It is decision time

Kansas Republican politicians have developed campaign talking points to justify a yes vote to amend the Kansas Constitution stripping Kansas women of the current protected right to abortion, and quite possibly most forms of reproductive health care as well. If passed, reproductive health care policies would be left to the good offices of the Kansas legislature which given the current makeup of the House and Senate the likes of Renee Erikson, Mark Steffens, Ty Masterson, Rick Wilborn, and Stephen Owens would become your designated OB/GYN providers, and you’d think by their campaign statements that they are up to speed on the care, treatment, and complications of pregnancy. Take Stephen Owens for example, in a condescending op/ed in the July 21, 2022, Newton Kansan Owens sternly assures us that your local legislators have your best interests at heart, now just listen up, Kansas statute law already protects reproductive medical procedures like ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, still births, and septic uterus. You can trust to do the right thing. We just want to keep those radical, liberal old Kansas Supreme Court folks out of our business. We got your back.
