Kermit Omer Ratzlaff

Kermit Omer Ratzlaff, Hillsboro, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2022, at Parkside Home in Hillsboro at the age of 100. Kermit was born December 26, 1921, in the Hillsboro Hospital to Jonathan J and Marie Plenert Ratzlaff.

Louise Marie Schroeder

Louise Marie Schroeder, 88, died on September 21, 2022. She was born on July 24, 1934, in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of Jessie and Genivive (Crouch) Stutesman.

After the deluge

In 1988 climatologist James Hansen announced, “Global warming has arrived.” Now, 34 years later, it is painfully obvious that climate catastrophe has arrived. Featuring scenes that have become more and more routine in recent years, summer in the northern hemisphere saw extreme heat and wildfires in many places, as well as torrential rains and colossal floods that washed away the products of human settlement in others.

Farm Bureau Insight: The rural impact
