Big run gets Friends past Bethel women

WICHITA — The Bethel College women’s basketball team gave up a run at the end of the first three quarters, including a 17-0 run to end the third quarter, turning a close game into a blowout in a 71-45 loss to Friends Wednesday in the KCAC opener for each team at Garvey Center in Wichita. Friends hit 25 of 56 from the field for 44.6 percent, while Bethel was 14 of 62 for 22.6 percent.

Bethel men drop exhibition to Fort Hays State

HAYS — Sandwiched between a pair of key early KCAC clashes, the Bethel College men’s basketball team slipped up to Hays to take on NCAA Division II Fort Hays State, falling 90-59 Thursday at Gross Memorial Coliseum. The host Tigers improve to 2-1.

City to continue utility rate discussion
