Hesston women top McPherson JV HESSTON — The Hesston College women’s basketball team outscored the McPherson College junior varsity 16-5 from the free throw line to claim a 51-41 win Saturday at Yost Center in Hesston. The Larks trailed 9-8 after the first quarter, but led 23-22 at the half and 38-31 after three quarters.
Detweiler throws for 7 TDs as Axtell repeats
Axtell quarterback Isaac Detweiler passed for 268 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 76-28 win over Thunder Ridge in the Eight-Man Division II championship game Saturday at Fischer Field. The game ended with 3:53 remaining in the third quarter on the 45-point rule.
