General Patton, who came down in history as a genius at war, in the end said “war is a horrible thing.” Generals MacArthur, Bradley, and Marshall echoed the sentiments when they saw the loss of life, hope, and home.
It has come time to say goodbye to 2022, and hello to 2023. One can only imagine what this moment must have felt like 150 years ago, scant months after the city was officially formed and The Newton Kansan began to publish.
Happy New Year! As this year comes to an end, and we begin to look forward to the next, many of us are quickly finalizing our plans for a new year’s resolution of some kind, while others may be looking forward to accomplishing many different things in the coming year.
