PREP GIRLS Wheat State League Little River 59, Goessel 25 GOESSEL — The Goessel girls fell to topranked (KBCA, Class 1A-I) Little River 59-25 Tuesday in Wheat State League play in Goessel. Little River led 21-3 after the first quarter, 31-12 at the half and 54-21 after three quarters.
DERBY — The Newton High School girls’ basketball team did some things effectively against the sixth-ranked (KBCA, Class 6A) Derby Panthers Tuesday, but had no answers against 6-foot-3 Addy Brown in a 55-28 Railer loss. Brown scored 22 points for Derby, 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the AV-CTL I.

Climate is the cumulative effect of long term temperature changes. Averaged data on temperature readings have continuously risen over these last decades. “Climate Change Indicators in the United States” clearly show a rise in winter average temperatures and a decrease in heating degree days resulting in “the amount of natural gas used by the average American at home during the winter has decreased since 1974….”
