Halstead sends three wrestlers to state tourney

WELLINGTON — The Halstead Dragons girls’ wrestling team will send its first entries to state after a 13thplace finish Saturday at the Class 4-3-2-1A D Regional at Wellington High School. The Dragons qualified three wrestlers to the state tournament.

Newton basketball team plays in front of full house

Members of the Newton Railers adaptive basketball team played in front of a near-capacity crowd of family, friends and the Newton High School student body Friday afternoon at Ravenscroft Gym for a Tri-County League game against Valley Center. The Railers also got to dance with the Newton Railiner dance team at halftime.

Railer girls send four wrestlers to state

WICHITA — The Newton High School girls’ wrestling team posted its most successful regional showing with four state qualifiers, including a regional champion, Saturday at the Class 6-5A Regionals at Wichita Southeast High School.
