‘Second Saturday’ at the gallery

Instructor Nichole Shannon lead the creativity at the Carriage Factory Gallery March 11, the third “Second Saturday” of 2023. Each Second Saturday of the month the gallery will provide themed make and take creations for children ages 4 through 10.

Swathers overcome obstacles for third title

HUTCHINSON — A new head coach, an almost entirely new varsity lineup and a strange loss in the season opener all did not foreshadow what was in store for the Hesston Swather boys’ basketball team. Twenty-five wins later and the Swathers sealed their destiny as a dynasty, stopping the Marysville Bulldogs 50-44 Saturday in the Class 3A state finals at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
