If you have pain on the bottom of your foot at the heel, especially when you take your first steps of the day, you likely have plantar fasciitis. One of the most common causes of foot pain, plantar fasciitis pain can subside with time, but sometimes the pain keeps people from doing what they love, whether that be running, walking, or other pleasures of life. I once saw a young woman suffering from plantar fasciitis who got some relief from an injection. A few years later she returned wanting another injection so she could dance pain-free at her own wedding.

The most recent report on “State of Computer Science Education: Understanding Our National Imperative” provides a clear warning: “Nearly two-thirds of high-skilled immigration is for computer scientists, and every state is an importer of this strategic talent. The USA has 700,000 open computing jobs, but only 80,000 computer science graduates a year. We must educate American students as a matter of national competitiveness.”

Thresher flag football team posts first score

The Bethel College Thresher women’s flag football team scored its first touchdown in team history, had the lead for most of the game and was in the game until the final six seconds of play before falling to Cottey College 18-6 Saturday at Thresher Field in KCAC play. Kylah Rome threw a three-yard pass to Jaquelle Tucker with 5:03 left in the first quarter to put the Threshers in the lead.

McPHERSON — The Newton High School girls’ soccer team ended play in the 17th McPherson Invitational with a 3-0 win over Augusta Friday in the fifth-place game. Izzy Sandoval turned the hat trick with all three goals.
