Newton competes Monday at regionals The Kansan Staff DERBY – The Newton High School boys’ golf team ended the regular season with a seventh- place finish Monday at the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I Championships at the Derby Golf & Country Club. Maize South won the team title at 295.
School district shortens year The Newton USD 373 board of education made an adjustment to the school calendar, taking two days off the calendar later this month and shortening the school year. The district had not used any weather days, though did use two days following an internet security incident.

HESSTON — Hutchinson Trinity claimed four of the top six places Monday to win the Heart of America League Championships at the Hesston Golf Course.
