Newton baseball team ends regular season with split

As the old proverb goes, “for the want of a nail,” or in this case a third out or even a third strike, a sweep was lost for the Newton High School baseball team against Valley Center Tuesday and Wednesday at Klein-Scott Field. When the first game was suspended because of weather in the bottom of the third inning on Tuesday, the Railers were down 3-0.

Moeller to be inducted to fine arts hall

Marsha (Seger) Moeller, a member of the Newton High School Class of 1965, will be in town this weekend taking in a choir concert at 7:30 p.m May 15 at NHS. And while she will not be performing, she will be getting some attention at the concert.
