Prairie Doc Perspective: Get your eyes checked

If you ever played baseball, you may have been told to “keep your eye on the ball.” When batting, a baseball player is taught to watch the ball the entire time from when it leaves the pitcher’s hand to when, hopefully, their bat smacks the ball for a hit.

Where to watch local political forums online

Last month The Newton Kansan partnered with Harvey County Talk and Harvey County Digital to host a political forum – or rather, a pair of them.We spent a couple of months preparing - inviting candidates, procuring a venue, inviting people to watch and preparing the technology for creating a forum for city and school candidates to be posted online. The board of education forum, featuring all but one candidate (who let us know she had an out-of-town committment she could not get out of) is online here: https://tinyurl.com/3b9yvntr.The city commission forum featuring all but one candidate (who let us know she had some health issues to take care of) is online here: https://tinyurl.com/yky6z428We truly enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the local political process for the city and school elections.
