West Park targeted for monitoring well.By Chad FreyNewton KansanIt took a couple of motions on April 30, but the Harvey County Commission granted permission to The Kansas Geological Survey to drill a “monitoring well” in Harvey County West Park.
This weekend will be the 20th Newton Car Show, under new management for the second time.This year is the first that the car show, one of the largest in the state, will be managed by the Community Chaplain Response Team.“It is an extremely big project, with that said, the car show folks that ran it for the last five years said ‘listen, we would just like to enjoy the car show and participate that way.’ The thought was because they gave to the nonprofits in the area, what better place to turn it over too,” said Larry Alexander, member of the Community.
