Newton boys place 14th at Rocky Welton Invitational

GARDEN CITY — The Newton High School boys’ wrestling team finished 14th out of 35 teams Friday and Saturday at the Rocky Welton Invitational in Garden City.

The Newton Public Library welcomed a few special guests on Feb. 1 — group of dogs was welcomed into the library for a read along.
Newton residents will see an increase in their utility bills next month, an increase stemming from a decision made in 2022.
Greg Bontrager, a retired music instructor who is now director of Newton Community Foundation, wants to move the endowment into community projects. He has a desire that the organization not only be a leader in community fundraising, but community projects.

This weekend the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra will offer up a concert featuring a pair of “young soloists,” a college student and a high school student who were each named winners of a young soloist contest by the orchestra.
