Requests for fireworks stands in the county shows disagreement between resolutions and zoning rules.

Michelle Green of Hutchinson is the owner of several fireworks stands and would like to add another. She would like to open a stand near Burrton, a stand in the city is closing. Her stand, however, would not be within the city limits and instead placed on property considered regulated by Harvey County.

Thank you for publishing “Freedom of Speech: Keeping Sanity Alive” by Robert C. Koehler and “Why the Enemy Alien Act? By Ron Svaty last Thursday. Their critiques, especially Koehler’s, say what I have been wanting to say since I learned about Columbia University’s cave-in to Donald Trump’s malicious demands. Choosing to condone Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza in order to receive tainted government money is beyond shameful. It reminds me of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus. When his attempt to return the blood money he was paid failed, Judas committed suicide.

There have been noticeable signs that spring has arrived on our farm. Following a snowfall during the kids’ spring break, the sun has come out and the temperatures have warmed up. It’s a different feel of seasons.
