During last year’s presidential campaign, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris seemed to disagree on quite a few things. One thing they agreed on -- Trump reiterated his position in a speech in Las Vegas on January 26 -- is that the federal government should stop demanding income tax payments on tips.
This week the city commission took up one of the hottest issues that crosses its desk each year, and it wasn’t a budget issue. Make no mistake, the budget is a difficult discussion every single year, and it will be again when budget season arrives.
It was a hard to miss last summer – a collection of carnival trucks parking on privately owned lot between Newton and Hesston along Hesston Road/Old 81 for several weeks last summer. It was not the founding of a new company, or staging for the county fair.
