It’s that time of year again: In most states, the Affordable Care Act’s annual open enrollment season for health plans begins Nov.
Newton mayor Rod Kreie and commissioner Leroy Koehn came up with an idea to help find stronger candidates for local offices – create a program that would educate would-be candidates about the offices to which they aspire.They recruited some help to create such a program, partnering with the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce and reaching across the political spectrum in addition to administrators from the city, county and school district to start creating a program is called “Ready to Run.”“Being an elected official is not easy,” said Rod Kreie, Newton mayor.
