The Axtell Eagles made short work of the South Central Timberwolves Saturday in the KSHSAA Eight-Player Division II championships at Fischer Field.In a steady snowstorm, Brandon Schmelzle rushed for 124 yards on 13 carries with five touchdowns to lead Axtell to a 50-0 win, the third straight state title for the 13-0 Eagles and the 39th straight win.The game was called at halftime on the 45-point rule.
