It is hard to believe the 2023 session is coming to a close. This seems to be one of the fastest sessions in years. We have produced about 323 bills in the Senate and sent 82 of those to the House. The House has produced 469 bills and sent 144 to the Senate.

HUTCHINSON — The Newton High School baseball team used two starting pitchers with contrasting styles to get the same results — a win over Hutchinson Wednesday to open Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I play at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson. Newton won 13-3 and 6-3.

The Newton USD 373 Board of Education has debated, for months, the future of not only Walton Elementary but the agricultural project based learning program housed at the school. The question has been asked, multiple times, if such a program could be relocated within the city limits.
