BC netters top Tabor

The Bethel College men’s and women’s tennis teams each opened KCAC play with 7-0 sweeps of rival Tabor College Thursday at the Ward Tennis Center on the BC campus. The Thresher women won all six singles matches in straight sets, giving up just seven games out of 67.

Smoke-free parks could be coming this year

The days of lighting up, or vaping, in Newton’s parks could be numbered - there is a group planning to approach the city for smoking bans in city parks. “On of our focuses for the year is to have tobacco free parks in Newton,” said Aline Banderia, a member of the Tobacco Control Leadership Team and a Chronic Disease Risk Reduction Coordinator for the Harvey County Health Department during a presentation to Harvey County D-Fy this week.
