City approves special assessments, bid for wetland area
The Newton City Commission approved special assessments for the Summer Crossing and Sand Creek Staton 4th additions and awarded a bid for a wetland wildlife observation area at its regular meeting Tuesday at the commission chambers at city hall. The commission also tabled actions on a request from Mennonite Housing Rehabilitation Services Inc., to waive from $20,000 in permit fees for Phase II of the Harvest Pointe housing project; a draft ordinance on water and sewer fees; and a proposal to restructure the Newton-North Newton Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission into one body that would strictly focus on Newton.
