A few semesters ago, I was lecturing to a class of about 100 students here at the University of Kansas. While presenting, my habit is to wander up and down the walkways and stairways of the lecture hall like a fitness enthusiast trying to get his steps in for the day.
With injuries reducing the first-year Bethel College women’s flag football team to the point where Monday night’s game against two-time defending NAIA Invitational Champions Ottawa was reduced to a scrimmage, it put a slight damper on the homecoming of Hesston natives Liz and Katie Sowers, the coaches for the Braves. Hesston High and Hesston College grads, Liz and Katie Sowers are also daughters of Floyd Sowers, a longtime former BC women’s basketball coach.
