Newton USD 373’s vehicle fleet is starting to show some age - in part due to how often the district purchases new vehicles and in part from the rising costs of doing so. For years the district has been purchasing about one new vehicle a year - and basically driving the wheels off before they can be replaced.

The Newton High School boys’ basketball team ended a 14-game losing streak with a 66-56 win over Salina South Friday in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail League Division I play at Ravenscroft Gym. The win was also the first for first-year Railer head coach Demetric Williams.
