Peabody - Dennis Strasser, 89, passed away October 20, 2022 in Hoyt, Kansas. He was born October 7, 1933 in Potwin, Kansas to Edward and Fern (Ullum) Strasser. He married Bonita Fisher November 12, 1960 who passed away in 2010. Survivors include: sons, Anthony Strasser, Travis Strasser; daughters, LuCinda Whitenack, Denise Starkweather; sisters, Sherry Edwards, Candace Elting; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Railer soccer team advances to regional finals

The Kansan Staff OLATHE – The Newton High School gymnastics team ended the season with two competitors at the 50th KSHSAA State Championships Saturday at Olathe South. Senior Elisa Fernandez finished her prep career placing 37th on the vault at 8.45, 22nd on the uneven parallel bars at 7.5, 17th on the balance beam at 8.425 and 33rd on the floor exercises at 8.125.
