Bethel spikers picked 11th
The Kansan Staff WICHITA — The Bethel College volleyball team was picked to finish 11th out of 13 teams in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches pre-season poll Friday. Ottawa was picked to win the conference, claiming 12 of 13 first-place votes and 144 points overall.
Rebels finish 1-1 in SBS bracket play
The Kansan Staff GODDARD — The Newton Rebels finished play at the second SummerBall Showdown with a 1-1 finish in bracket play Friday and Saturday at the Genesis Sports Complex in Goddard. In the round of 16, the Rebels downed the PSCL Select 4-2.
Wind Surge ends series on four-game winning streak
The Kansan Staff SAN ANTONIO — The Wichita Wind Surge ended a six-game Texas League series with a 2-1 win in 10 innings over the San Antonio Missions Sunday at Nelson Wolff Stadium. Wichita lost the first two games of the series, but won the last four.
