‘Pipe Dreams’ helping homeless reestablish lives

On a sunny Friday afternoon Thomas Zuidema, 19, can be found working outside with a sawzall in his hands as he works towards getting his dream job. He might take a quick break to drinks some water or sports drink, before going back to demolishing pallets at a clip of one every 30 seconds. He doesn’t wear a watch to check how long he has before he can go “home.” He relies on his boss – Ernest Evans, the owner of Pipe Dream Pallett Co. on the campus of Excell Industries in Hesston.

Goessel to host sports preview Goessel Junior High/High School will host its 29th annual Fall Sports Preview Night on Friday, August 26. The evening will include a pulled pork meal, volleyball and football scrimmages, and introductions of all sports teams.
