Teri Gayln Harpool (Dixon)

Wichita, KS- Teri Gayln Harpool (Dixon) passed away May 22, 2022. Teri was born to Gloyd and Lyna Dixon of Kingman, Kansas, on December 1, 1949. She married Greg Harpool on February 18, 1980. She worked as a legal administrator for several years and then returned to her first love; teaching as an elementary music teacher in USD 259 where she retired in 2019.

Kansas Moms Demand Action adds 2K members

LAWRENCE — An estimated 2,000 women have signed up to join Kansas Moms Demand Action since the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school mass shooting last week, organizers with the group say. Bolstered by the surge in membership, Kansas Moms Demand Action and its chapters across the state held blood and donation drives Friday to commemorate National Gun Awareness Day.

Nutrition and Health: An introduction

Hello, Harvey County! I joined K-State Research & Extension – Harvey County as the Nutrition, Food Safety and Health Agent in April. For the past couple of months, I have been busy making connections with groups, businesses, and people in Newton and surrounding communities of Harvey County. Our Spring health program, Walk Kansas, just wrapped up at the end of May as well. In case you missed it, Walk Kansas is a team-based, 8-week program focused on increasing physical activity, making better eating choices and reducing stress.
