During a period of inflation and record-high gas prices there was a bit of good news this week. As the Harvey County Commission began to discuss transfer station fees (and they are not going up) Newton residents received a letter from the city of Newton stating that trash collection rates should remain “steady.” The county Transfer Station fees were first implemented in 1997, and have been set by resolution every year since.
