Goessel golfers finish sixth at 1A state

HESSTON — The Goessel Bluebird golf team was set to begin a second day of play at the Class 1A state championships at the Hesston Golf Course, only heavy rains prevented a second day of play. The course was ruled unplayable for Tuesday’s round and the Kansas State High School Activities Association called the tournament final after the first day of play.

The pat, and at least partially correct, answer, is that Gendron subscribes to something called the “Great Replacement” theory. That’s mostly what we hear about in mainstream media descriptions of his 180-page “manifesto”: He’s a “right-wing” racist who believes that political elites are conspiring to replace him and his fellow “white” Americans with people of color.

Hesston wins shortened 3A state tourney

SALINA – The Hesston High School boys’ golf team ended its quest for a state title not with a bang or a whimper, but a deluge. Heavy rains Tuesday forced the KSHSAA to shorten the Class 3A state championships at the Salina Municipal Golf Course shortened to the conclusion of Monday’s play, leaving the Swathers up by two strokes and handing the squad its seventh state title under the six-man format and first since 2005.

Newton golfer competes at state WINFIELD — Newton junior Grayson Ybarra competed Monday at the Class 5A state boys’ golf championships at the Quail Ridge Golf Course Monday in Winfield. Ybarra shot a 94 to finish 75th out of 93 competitors.
