Clay Center, Kansas – What if Jesus’ resurrection never happened? What if He died on the cross, but Sunday never came and He remained dead? I have been going to church and hearing about Jesus’ resurrection since I was three. Religious people like me can hear about it so often, that we are in danger of losing the significance of it, where it is no longer meaningful.
Frank Wilczek, the Nobel Prize-winning theoretical physicist and author renowned for his boundary-pushing investigations into the fundamental laws of nature, was honored Wednesday with this year’s prestigious Templeton Prize, awarded to individuals whose life’s work embodies a fusion of science and spirituality.
MANHATTAN — Amala John a computer science major from Hesston High School was one of six students honored by The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at Kansas State University which announced its 2022 Ice Scholars, which recognize select outstanding students who plan to major in engineering at the university.
The Dyck Arboretum of the Plains of Hesston will host three “Summer Music Nights” during the months of May, June and July. The series will kick off May 19 with “The Flannelbacks,” which was founded in 2014 by four students from Bethel College.

William Eash’s final tour as director of the Bethel College Concert Choir will take the group to Germany, Poland, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia. The choir gives its Europe tour preview concert 4 p.m.
With more than 90 events over the course of 61 days, the Newton Public Library summer activities are making a full return this year after a two-year hiatus. “Last summer, we were able to bring back in-person StoryTimes, and other in-person gatherings with limited attendance, but we couldn’t hold some of the traditional events that draw larger numbers of people to the library,” said Dr.
Some pieces of history are hard to remember, but during a sesquicentennial they get remembered. In the 150-year history of Newton, and Harvey County, three law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty.
Michael Ruebke, a high school junior, wanted to follow in the footsteps of his older brother - earn an Eagle Scout rank with a project that helps law enforcement. His older brother helped with creating a library at the Harvey County Detention Center.
