The annual “Five Places of Christmas” was hosted Dec. 4, with The Warkentin House, Carriage Factory Gallery, Kauffman Museum and Goerz House at Bethel College opening their doors to visitors for free.

Steven (Steve) Ray Wilson, 75, passed away on November 28, 2021. Steve was born August 17, 1946 in Newton, Kansas. He was the first son of Woodrow Francis Wilson and Nina Mae Brill Wilson. Steve attended Newton High School and went on to study structural engineering at Kansas State University.
Randall“Randy” Abrahams 71, died December 1, 2021 at NMC Health. He was born December 14, 1949 in Newton, Kansas to Elmer and Hazel (Porter) Abrahams. On March 11, 1992 he married Cathy Stanhope at Newton and she survives of the home.
WICHITA - David E. Unruh 66, died December 2, 2021 at his Wichita residence.

HESSTON — The Hesston Swather girls couldn’t get the offense going, falling to Southeast of Saline 41-33 Friday night in the season opener for both teams. Hesston was held to 12 of 38 from the field and seven of 16 from the line.
VALLEY CENTER — The Newton High School wrestling team claimed four individual titles and the team title Friday at the Valley Center December Pools tournament. Newton edged Bishop Carroll 217- 175.5 for the team title.
The Newton High School girls’ basketball team won the first quarter against seventh-ranked (Class 6A, KBCA) Dodge City, but the Red Demons controlled the game the game the rest of the way for a 50-27 win Saturday at Ravenscroft Gym.
