Railer girls drop opener at Dodge City

DODGE CITY — The Newton High School girls’ basketball team fell to Dodge City 78-19 Saturday in the Railers’ season opener in Dodge City.

Newton trailed 21-1 after the first quarter and 45-14 at the half.

Camree Johnson led Dodge City with 20 points. Kisa Unruh scored 15 points.

Lexi Valle-Ponds led Newton with eight points.

Newton plays Wichita North at 6 p.m. Friday in the GWAL-AV-CTL Challenge at Wichita Heights.
