Railer boys fall at Dodge City

DODGE CITY — The Newton High School boys’ basketball team opened the season with a 67-34 loss to Dodge City Saturday in Dodge City.

The Red Demons led 19-8 after the first quarter, 30-14 at the half and 58-20 after three quarters, kicking off a running clock in the fourth quarter.

Dodge City was led by Aiden Sowers with 12 points, Cooper Loll with 11 points and Dawson Taylor with 11.

Max Ruth led the Railers with nine points.

Newton plays at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at McPherson.
