Bronco girls look to three returning starters
BRAINERD — The Remington High School girls’ basketball team will look to three returning starters and three other letterwinners to set the pace for the 2020-21 season.
Maddijo Kennedy begins her third season as the Bronco coach. She is assisted by Darrin Rasmussen and Amanda Lewis.
Remington was 3-17 last season, 2-7 in HOAL play.
Returning starters include Desiree Ingalsbe (5-10, sr., 8 ppg, 6 rpg), Lucy Entz (5-10, sr., 6 ppg, 6 rpg) and Emily Wedel (5-2, jr., 4 ppg, 4 rpg).
Other returning letterwinners include Ellie Van Zelfden (5-8, jr.), Abi Hisel (5-7, jr.) and Missy Hayes (5-3, so.).
Top freshmen prospects include Bri Hochstetler and Karoline Johnson.
“We dealt with a lot of injuries last year which led us to have seven different starting lineups throughout the season,” Kennedy said. “With that, it gave a larger number of girls starting experience which will be beneficial to our 2020-2021 season. We have some older and younger girls that are going to be taking on different roles this year. I see this group of girls really pushing each other and improving throughout the season.”
Kennedy expects Sterling, Bennington and Berean Academy to be among the top contenders in the HOAL this season.
Top non-league foes include Halstead, West Elk and Olpe.
