14U win two

The Newton Railers 14U baseball team finished 2-0 in play Sunday at Kenny Williams Field.

The Railers downed Buhler 6-4 and beat Fulmer 8-3.

Against Buhler, A.J. Carbajal drove in two runs. Michael Seirer had two hits with an RBI. Ian Baker had two hits.

Blaze Bradshaw struck out five batters in 3.1 innings for the win. Colby Gomez struck out three in an inning. Carson Wharton finished the game.

Against Fulmer, Austin Aarons had two triples and drove in four runs. Wharton also drove in a run.

Aarons pitched two innings of relief for the win, striking out four. Baker finished the game for the save, striking out one. Kale Degenstein pitched two innings, allowing no earned runs.

The Railers are 12-16.

The Hesston 12U team finished 2-0 in play Sunday at Centennial Park, beating Newton-Holder 9-1 and Hesston-Burkholder 16-2.

Newton-Weeks tied Newton-Henseik 6-6.

Newton-Weeks is 2-9-1.
