The Harvey County road projects are shown in red.

Road improvements have begun on three Harvey County roads.

The road work includes a cape seal surfacing for South Ridge Road from U.S. 50 to Southwest 125th Street, Northwest 12th Street from Halstead Road to Meridian and West Dutch Avenue from Woodberry Road to Hesston Road.

According to the county release, “A cape seal is a combination of a chip seal and a microseal. It introduces oil to existing cracks, then includes a sealing to fill in ruts.”

During the road work, flaggers and pilot cars will be used. Residents living on the roads will still have access to their properties.

The projects are being completed by Vance Brothers of Tulsa, Okla., and Kansas City, Mo.
