The Bethel College football team has had its struggles during the first two games this season, but will look to get untracked when the Threshers host Bethany at 7 p.m. Saturday at Joe W. Goering Stadium.

Bethel is coming off a 53-0 loss to Tabor last week, getting held to 61 yards in total offense. Bethany downed McPherson County rival McPherson College 57-43 to improve to 2-0. The Swedes opened the season with a 36-23 win over Briar Cliff in the GPAC-KCAC Challenge.

The Swedes are on a three-game winning streak going back to the last week of last season, an 18-15 win over McPherson for the sole win of the season.

Bethel won last year 26-9 in Lindsborg.

Bethany quarterback Isaiah Salazarr has hit 44 of 71 passes for 711 yards with nine touchdowns and an interception.

Jafar Thomas has 39 carries for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Knox has 28 carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Michael Wimberly has 14 catches for 275 yards and two touchdowns, followed by Rodney Molette with 10 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns. Michael Milbourne has 11 catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

The defense is led by Rhett Mizer with 18 total tackles, followed by Chris Owens with 17 and Jau’Marl Clark with 16. Dominic Dalmaso has an interception.

Bethel’s offense is led by Dominic Webb, who has hit 23 of 44 passes for 210 yards with an interception. Webb also has 61 yards rushing on 26 carries. Tyshawn Simon has 22 carries for 54 yards.

Montero DuBose leads the Thresher receivers with nine catches for 82 yards. DuBose also averages 20.4 yards per kick return.

Jariah Booker has 16 tackles, followed by Joseph Winfield and Charles Johnson with 14 each. Darius Jackson has an interception.
