Friendship Meals

Served at Grand Central, Hesston Senior Center and Sedgwick Senior Center. Aging Projects, Inc. Meals on Wheels/Friendship Meals provide meals to senior citizens 60 and older in multiple counties in south central Kansas. There is no charge for the meal; however, there is a suggested $3 contribution.

Feb. 17

Ham salad; bun; split pea soup; broccoli; banana; cracker; milk.

Feb. 18

Chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes; green beans; pineapple; molasses cookie; bread; milk.

Feb. 19

Chili; combination salad; salad dressing; peaches; bread pudding; crackers; milk.

Feb. 20

Southwest chicken bake; cauliflower; apricots; cornbread; milk.

Feb. 21

Meatloaf; scalloped potatoes; mixed green salad with chick peas; salad dressing; pears; roll; milk.

Spaghetti and meatballs; Italian vegetables; apple rings; sour cream; pound cake; milk.

Feb. 17

Pulled pork sandwich; mashed potatoes; vegetable medley; cinnamon apple gelatin; milk.

Feb. 18

Beef and macaroni bake; creamed spinach; fruit cup; roll; milk.

Feb. 19

Fiesta hamburger steak; confetti rice; cauliflower; peaches; roll; milk.

Feb. 20

Chicken supreme; roasted baby bakers; mixed vegetables; tropical fruit; roll; milk.

Feb. 21

Sloppy joe; baked potato chips; steamed vegetables; mandarin oranges; milk.

Feb. 22

Smoked sausage casserole; tater tots; Harvard beets; ice cream; milk.

Those interested in receiving meals should call 316-283-3500. The meals are prepared by Newton Medical Center and are delivered by volunteers seven days a week, including holidays. Diabetic diets are served when ordered by a physician.
