Friendship Meals

Served at Grand Central, Hesston Senior Center and Sedgwick Senior Center. Aging Projects, Inc. Meals on Wheels/Friendship Meals provide meals to senior citizens 60 and older in multiple counties in south central Kansas. There is no charge for the meal; however, there is a suggested $3 contribution.

Jan. 13

Meatloaf; cabbage au gratin; peas; mandarin oranges; roll; milk.

Jan. 14

Hot turkey sandwich (bread, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy); mixed vegetables; apricots; gingersnap cookie; milk.

Jan. 15

Cheeseburger pie; combination salad; salad dressing; pears; brownie; milk.

Jan. 16

Chicken patty with setup or fish with tartar sauce; bun; french fries; broccoli; peaches; milk.

Jan. 17

Oven-baked pork chop; baked potato; spinach; applesauce; roll; milk.

Jan. 12

Breaded pork chop; Lyonnaise potatoes; carrots; fruited gelatin; roll; milk.

Jan. 13

Bratwurst on a bun; sauerkraut; country green beans with bacon and onion; cinnamon baked apples; milk.

Jan. 14

Beef stroganoff with noodles; broccoli; banana; roll; milk.

Jan. 15

Broccoli chicken divan; scalloped potatoes; peas; strawberries and cream; roll; milk.

Jan. 16

Baked cod; rice and orzo pilaf; vegetable medley; fruit cup; milk.

Jan. 17

Ham and beans; fried potatoes; seasoned greens; peaches; cornbread; milk.

Jan. 18

Baked ziti with Italian sausage; zucchini and squash; fruit cup; garlic bread; milk.

Those interested in receiving meals should call 316-283-3500. The meals are prepared by Newton Medical Center and are delivered by volunteers seven days a week, including holidays. Diabetic diets are served when ordered by a physician.
