Friendship Meals

Served at Grand Central, Hesston Senior Center and Sedgwick Senior Center. Aging Projects, Inc. Meals on Wheels/Friendship Meals provide meals to senior citizens 60 and older in multiple counties in south central Kansas. There is no charge for the meal; however, there is a suggested $3 contribution.

Jan. 6

Swiss steak; baked potato; roasted zucchini; applesauce; roll; milk.

Jan. 7

Cheesy potato and egg bake; tomato salad; juice; banana; biscuit; milk.

Jan. 8

Harvest turkey soup; broccoli/cauliflower/carrot salad; pears; peach crisp; roll; milk.

Jan. 9

Pork roast with gravy; sweet potatoes; herbed green beans; strawberries; white cake; wheat roll; milk.

Jan. 10

Chicken pot pie; cooked beets; chick pea salad; pineapple; milk.

Spaghetti and meatballs; Italian vegetables; apple rings; sour cream; pound cake; milk.

Jan. 6

Pulled pork sandwich; mashed potatoes; vegetable medley; cinnamon apple gelatin; milk.

Jan. 7

Beef and macaroni bake; creamed spinach; fruit cup; roll; milk.

Jan. 8

Fiesta hamburger steak; confetti rice; cauliflower; peaches; roll; milk.

Jan. 9

Chicken supreme; roasted baby bakers; mixed vegetables; tropical fruit; roll; milk.

Jan. 10

Sloppy joe; baked potato chips; steamed vegetables; mandarin oranges; milk.

Jan. 11

Smoked sausage casserole; tater tots; Harvard beets; ice cream; milk.

Those interested in receiving meals should call 316-283-3500. The meals are prepared by Newton Medical Center and are delivered by volunteers seven days a week, including holidays. Diabetic diets are served when ordered by a physician.
