The 2019 Newton Toy Run featured a perfect day and hundreds of motorcycles riding through town to donate toys to the Salvation Army Christmas Program.

Salvation Army officials estimate more than 800 motorcycles participated in the annual event.

"It was great, we had a big turnout," said Wendy Basey, director of the Harvey County Salvation Army.

Money raised from button sales, an auction and a chili feed is still being counted.

The Salvation Army will distribute toys and food for the Christmas Program Dec. 19 and 20. Approximately 275 families will be served, each with a food box and gifts for the holiday.
