The 15th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza will get underway at 7 p.m. July 4 at Kidron Bethel Village, 3001 Ive Drive, North Newton. The free event attracts thousands each year for family-friendly festivities including games, food, live music, a fireworks show and more.

The fireworks show begins at dusk. Hotdogs, Kidron Konies, beverages and snacks will be available. Lawn chairs are recommended. Flashlights may be helpful for navigating to and from parking areas. There is no admission charge.

New this year is a community raffle with prizes provided by local businesses. Prizes include free pizza for a year from Papa John’s, $100 cash and donations from Sonic Drive-In, Hibbett Sports and SEARS Hometown Store. Raffle tickets can be purchased that evening for $1 each. Sales will benefit the Health Care Benevolent Fund, which assists residents of Kidron Bethel Village who are unable to cover the full cost of their care.

Specific to this event, Kidron Bethel Village received a $1,000 grant from the North Newton Community Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase fireworks for the show that evening. The fireworks show will be put on by the Kidron Bethel Village maintenance team.

“We are grateful for the grant we have received from the North Newton Community Foundation,” said Linda Peters, executive director of Kidron Bethel Village. “We love hosting the Fireworks Extravaganza and seeing the community connect with Kidron Bethel. It is a valuable event for everyone.”

In addition to the grant received from the North Newton Community Foundation, several local companies have partnered with Kidron Bethel Village to sponsor this year’s event allowing proceeds to support the Health Care Benevolent Fund.
