Sedgwick 18, Skyline 3

GREAT BEND — The Sedgwick Cardinals downed Pratt Skyline 18-3 in three innings in the quarterfinals of the Class 2-1A regionals at Barton County Community College.

The Cardinals took command early with nine runs in the bottom of the first inning. Skyline outscored Sedgwick 3-1 in the second inning, but the Cardinals ended the game with eight runs in the third.

No Sedgwick player had more than one hit. Lance Hoffsommer drove in four runs. Nolan Crumrine, Hooper Schroeder, Trey Siemens and Trey Bright each drove in two runs.

Leo Egging drove in two runs for Skyline.

Trey Bright pitched 1.2 innings for the win, allowing three runs on one hit with four walks and three strikeouts. Braxton Park finished the game, allowing a hit with three walks and a strikeout.

David Holmes took the loss for Sedgwick.

Skyline ends the season 1-18.

Sedgwick is 13-2 and faces Inman at 2 p.m. Thursday at Barton County CC in the semifinals. The finals follow at 5 p.m.
