Sheriff to host drug take back day

The Harvey County Sheriff's Department will host a drug take back day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at the Harvey County Law Enforcement Center, 120 E. Seventh  St.

The department will collect unused prescription drugs for proper disposal. The take back day is part of a national program by the Drug Enforcement Adminsitration.

 

FloraKanas coming up

The Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston  will host the 2019 FloraKansas Spring Native Plant Festival from Thursday, April 25 to Monday, April 29. This year marks the 20th year for this unique event, providing Kansas' largest selection of native and adaptable plants.  

The sale will begin with an exclusive Member Day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 25. Memberships can be purchased online, or onsite, in order to participate in the early sale.  

The remainder of the plant sale is open to the general public during the following time: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  April 26, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 April 28 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 29.  Food vendors will include the Lincoln Perk, with coffee and pastries in the mornings, and Salted Creamery ice cream on Friday and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
