Bethel College students Callie Ross, Overland Park, and Kaho Yanagidaira, Nagano, Japan, will give a joint junior recital at 7 p.m. April 16. in the Administration Building chapel. The recital is free and open to the public.

Ross, violin, is a student of Nancy Johnson, Bethel instructor of violin. Yanagidaira, clarinet, is a student of Joel Boettger, instructor of single-reed instruments.

Ross will play Mozart’s "Violin Sonata in E Minor," and she and Yanagidaira will perform “Zwei Duette fur Violine und Klarinette” by Paul Hindemith.

Yanagidaira will also play “Sonata for Clarinet and Piano” by Francis Poulenc and “Rhapsody for Clarinet” by Willson Osborne.

Their piano accompanist is Rosa Lee, D.M.A., Bethel assistant professor of music.

Ross is a 2016 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School. Yanagidaira is a 2015 graduate of Matsumoto Fukashi High School in Nagano, and a 2017 graduate of Hesston College.

Both will graduate from Bethel in May 2020, Ross with a degree in music and education, and Yanagidaira with a double major in music and business administration.

Both are members of the Bethel College Concert Choir and the chamber orchestra. Ross plays with the Bethel College Steel Drum Band, while Yanagidaira is a member of the Bethel College Wind Ensemble.
