MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge High School softball team returns six starters for the upcoming season.

The Wildcats are coached by Annie Toews and Lynn Eichelberger.

Moundridge went 14-8 last season, falling to Chase County in the second round of regionals.

Moundridge graduated five seniors last season and two foreign exchange students.

The team will be led by the sister combination of pitcher Zizi Sebrant and catcher Keira Sebrant and the combination of pitcher Makenzie Elmore and Erin Durst.

“Seniors Ellen Durst and Keira Sebrant have been playing ball all four years as well as over the summer,” Toews said. “They know the game and what it takes to win. They should be our leaders and are looking to end their high school careers on a very high note. We have several returning starters that contributed greatly a year ago. I look for them all to improve on their game and their consistency both in the field and at bat. This is a very motivated group! I hope they stay hungry and go further than we did last year. We want to go to State and make some noise!”
