MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcat boys topped Sterling 60-40 Tuesday in Heart of America League play in Moundridge.

The Wildcats led 36-16 at the half.

“Defense continues to ignite runs for us,” Moundridge coach Vance Unrau said. “Mid-first quarter until halftime we had steals which led to having numbers in transition. I keep using the word ‘relentless’ as I describe how I want these guys to play defensively. We may finally be seeing what this mentality generates and how team members feed off of each other and want to join in. We weren't as sharp offensively tonight so we will get back to fine tuning some things tomorrow.”

Dillon Vogts led Moundridge with 24 points, followed by Brady Helms with 13.

Tyus Wilson led 2-12 Sterling with 17 points and 16 rebounds.
