HESSTON — The Hesston College women’s basketball team fell to Butler Community College 100-49 Wednesday night in Jayhawk Conference cross division play at Yost Center.

Butler hit 37 of 85 from the field (43.5 percent), while Hesston was just 15 of 55 (27.3 percent). Butler held a 47-21 rebounding edge.

The Grizzlies led 21-11 after the first quarter and 24-15 at the half. Butler put things away with a 39-13 third quarter.

Lauryn Snipes and Awreona Ransom each scored 16 points to lead Butler, 4-0. Criste’On Waters and Camille Downs each scored 14 points. Kyla Callins scored 10 points.

Essence Tolson scored 11 points for Hesston, 1-2. KaDrea Hulett scored 10 points.

Hesston plays Friday and Saturday at the Kansas City (Kan.) Community College Classic. The Larks face North Central Missouri at 2 p.m. Friday and St. Louis Community College at noon Saturday.
