Newton and North Newton will play host to a series of football bowl games, all played over the course of the next few days at Fischer Field in Athletic Park and Thresher Stadium at Bethel College.

A total of 36 teams made up of players in grades three through six will play in the  2018 Railyard Rumble Nov. 1 through 4.

"This is the biggest our tournament has been in several years," said Doug Livesay,  President of the Newton Junior Railers Football program.

Nov. 1 and 2 games will begin at 6 p.m. at both locations. Nov. 3 and 4 games will be scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The weekend championship games will start at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Fischer Field. 

Teams from Newton, Andover, Goddard, Maize, Clearwater, Hutchinson, Buhler, Circle, Winfield, Wellington, Hesston, Rose Hill and Sedgwick will compete.

"This bowl was formerly known as the Warrior Bowl," Livesay said. "We play in the Mid States Football League which has teams from all over south central Kansas."

Railyard Rumble tickets are $5 per day or $8 for the weekend for adults, $1 a day for students kindergarten through 12th grade and $1 a day for senior citizens.
