Class 3A

Hesston (6-3) at Smoky Valley (9-0)

Hesston advanced to the second round after a 42-28 win over Wichita Collegiate on the road last week.

Smoky Valley downed Cheney 43-6 in the first round of the playoffs.

This game is a rematch of a game Sept. 21, which Smoky Valley won 28-0. In that game, Lane Schrag hit five of 10 passes for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Schrag also rushed for a touchdown. Tim Lambert rushed for 112 yards and had 71 yards receiving with a touchdown.

For Hesston in that game, Cameron Cox had 134 yards passing with two interceptions. Parker Roth was held to 13 yards rushing. Both had just returned to play after missing games with injuries.

For the season, Schrag has hit 20 of 47 passes for 292 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Schrag has 80 carries for 713 yards and 11 touchdowns. Lambert has 177 carries for 1,271 yards and nine touchdowns. Cort Elliott has 164 carries for 813 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Cameron Cox for the season has hit 75 of 127 passes for 898 yards with six touchdowns and six interceptions. Roth has 107 carries for 1,190 yards and 18 touchdowns. Grady Toews has 33 catches for 415 yards and five touchdowns.

The winner gets the winner between 9-0 Pratt and 8-1 Colby.

Class 1A

Meade (4-5) at Sedgwick (7-1)

Meade advanced to the second round of the playoffs by stopping Syracuse 21-14 on the road.

Sedgwick received a bye in the first week of the playoffs.

Sedgwick beat Meade 42-7 in the first week of district play. Hooper Schroeder passed for 134 yards with a touchdown and an interception and rushed for 140 yards with three touchdowns. Kale Schroeder rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns and had 109 yards receiving with a touchdown. Eric Kohncke had 22 total tackles in the game.

For Meade in that game, Greyson Haynes rushed for 83 yards and passed for six. Gatlin Clawson rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown. Clawson had nine total tackles in the game.

For the season for Meade, Jarrett Stapleton has 585 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. Haynes has 532 yards rushing and four touchdowns an 101 yards passing and a touchdown. Clawson has 457 yards rushing and nine touchdowns.

Hunter Davis has 64 yards receiving and a touchdown.

The winner gets to face the winner of 8-1 Smith Center and 4-5 Salina Sacred Heart.
